Banphot Phisai
Banphot Phisai, what is that, where is that, who should you go there?
If you want to relax, go there.
Banphot Phisai is located in Nakhon Sawan province, about 30 kilometers from the provincial capitol
Muang Nakhon Sawan
, close to Kamphaeng Phet province.
In Muang Nakhon Sawan four rivers combine to one (and that is the beginning of the Maenam Chao Praya),
so there is plenty of water and very fertile ground.
Pia's sister owns a plot land in Banphot Phisai, she runs a small oistrich farm, fish swim in the pond, and vergetables are growing.
And a few relatives of Tham (Nok Ten's husband) live there, they take care of everything that walks, swims and grows.
The place actually does not have a name yet, it's very remote, but there is electricity and water.
Last year, 2003, we have been there a few times.
Only for a day each time, there are not yet enough places to sleep.
It's 300 kilometers north of Bangkok, about 4 hours by car, going up and down on one day is tirering and expensive.
Most of the time, you can use a good 4-lane highway to get there.
Tham is a songthaew-driver in Bangkok (a songthaew is a pick-up truck used as public transport), driving in Bangkok causes a lot of stress.
He already told us he loved to get more often to Banphot Phisai because of the quite surroundings.
On the way he became more and more enthousiast, very understandable, even more when we had passed Muang Nakhon Sawan.
The surroundings were very green, a lot of trees, and a lot of rice fields, sugar cane, orange trees . . .
And a lot of well maintained houses.
When we arrived we walked around a little bit, and we understood Tham very well why Tham wanted to go there more often.
Everything is green, and quiet, so quiet.
And if you plant something, you can almost see it grow.
A lot of people live there, but because there are so many trees, you just don't see or hear them.
The plot of land is located between rice-fileds and a small mountain.
That means enough water, but no wet feet during the monsoon.
Part of the land is used as oistrich farm, there is a fish pond, and enough fruit and vegetables.
Beuatifull, so beautifull . . .
Nok Ten started to like Banphot Phisai more and more during last year. She often went there for a couple of days, and now she is building a house. That's good for us as well, it means we can stay their on our next holiday. Much better than the dust, heat and smell of Bangkok.
