At the corner of Thanon Decha Nuchit and Thanon Naeb Kehardt, and at the corner of Thanon Decha Nuchit and Thanon Petchkasem, Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan. These restaurants have no name in Roman letters.
These are ordinary Thai restaurants where Thai dishes are sold. And because Hua Hin is also a fishing port they do sell seafood as well.
And the food is good, really good. You can order from the menu, but if you want something different (you must know the Thai name) you can usually also order. It is often busy, very busy because the food is so good.
These restaurants do not look fancy. Please do not be scared! It's simple, a bit old, with large bare tables and chairs and stools, the plates are plastic, the aluminum cutlery is weak. Do not worry, you'll come for the food.
The kitchen is on the sidewalk, the food is prepared while you watch. It looks very simple, and that's what it is. A few wok burners, cool boxes in which the ingredients are cooled, and bowls and bottles with sauces and spices and stuff. And thus the cook prepares the most delicious dishes.
The service is fast and friendly. But not very personal. This is almost impossible because it is so busy.
These restaurants are not expensive. For 100 baht per person you can eat, drinks not included. Seafood can be a bit more expensive.
We have eaten there a dozen times, the last time was in February 2014.
When we write about a place, we write about what we saw and did there, and what we think about it; no more and no less.
