Slept with family in Prawet

Home - Travel stories - Bangkok - Slept with family in Prawet

In recent years we sleep in Prawet, at Pia's sister Nok Ten. In a terraced house with three floors. The house is 10 minutes' drive from the airport, you see the airplanes go up and down, but you do not suffer from the noise, The house is not under the approach routes.

A landing plane

A landing plane.

Many people lived in that house, a great many people: Nok Ten, Tham her husband and their daughter Cartoon; Nok Ten's daughter Kathe, her boyfriend and their three small children; Pia's mother, Pia's sister Wanna with her child; Pia's brother Titnoi. And sometimes we do.
Today there are far fewer people, only Nok Ten Cartoon and her daughter, and sometimes the children of Kathe, and Titnoi.
Tham is out of sight. Wanna has bought her own home, and Pia's mother lives there now. And Kathe with her husband and children moved to Surat Thani.

The street

The street.

It was perhaps very crowded, but the house is quite large, and most people are at work or school.

The bedrooms have air conditioning, there was hot water in each of the three bathrooms, it's good to sleep there.
There is a covered driveway in front of the house, which is sometimes used to cook and to have a meal in the evening. And above the driveway is a roof terrace where you can come from one of the bedrooms.
We do miss the cozy surroundings of the house along the khlong, but there is nothing wrong with sleeping here.

We have been there for the last time in 2014. This was also the last time we should sleep there
At the end of 2013 Nok Ten passed away, and Kathe took a lot of things out of the house.
Only Titnoi lived there.
The house is now, in 2015, for sale, and until it is sold tenants live in the house.
