There are a lot of little animals in Thailand.
And we mean animals with four or more legs, mosquitos, cockroaches, centipedes, flies, spiders, ants, .....
And these animals creach. stitch, buzz, En die kriebelen, steken, zoemen, want your food, ...
They make you feel itchy.
Or -more serious- they mak you ill, malaria, dengue, ....
And very often they don't look like a nice pet.
Very often you must protect yourself. No shorts, but trousers, a shirt with long sleeves, a mosquito net. And you must use insect repellent. and once you get stitched, you need ointment to stop the itchy feeling.
It is very necessary
But these animals can be very beautiful as well.
Butterflies can de very big and have beautiful colors. Some companies even breed butterflies. Near waterfalls you can see a lot of butterfiles, but we don't know why.
Or the animals are fascinating.
Cockroaches ar not the most attractive animals, but is is fascinating to see these insects walk around. Or ants, who use the smallest cracks to enter your house.
And you can eat these animals.
More and more, insecta are used as food, certainly on markets. Specially grasshoppers, crickets and ant eggs. They are fried, cooked, pickeled.
It is not our favorite food. Why not, we're not used to it
And we ar not very consequent about it. We like chili paste with maengda, a giant water bug that looks like a cockroach, very much
