Slept at River View Lodge

Home - Travel stories - Chiang Mai - Slept at River View Lodge

25 Thanon Charoen Prathet, Soi 4, Mueang Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai, 053-271109, http://www.riverviewlodgch.com/.

River View Lodge is a hotel, that is located on the banks of the Ping river. It is hard to find, you have to drive through some vary narrow streets, wondering if the car is not to big. And there are not many signs, so you don't know where to go.

The hotel looks nice, two floors with a walkway in front, and an open reception area. Throughout the hotel a lot of old utensils are displayed. Behind the hotel is a well maintained garden, overlooking the river. Breakfast is served there.
We estimate the hotel has about 20 rooms.

The young receptionist was very friendly, but he could not change the price of the room. The people who served breakfast were very friendly as well.

The room was tidy and clean but was looking a bit old-fashioned. The airconditioning was functioning well, but there was no TV.
The bathroom was like the room, a bit old-fashioned. But there was warm and cold water.

Breakfast was good, not a buffet, but served by the staff. Having breakfast in the garden, next to the river is very relaxing.

We spent one night in the hotel, in March 2010. The price was 2500 Thb, breakfast included.
