If you arrive in a city in the evening it is often difficult to find a place where the food is good. We first wanted to eat in the hotel, but we did not like the food on the menu and price. Pia went out on the street to look around, she had seen some signboards, and she found this restaurant.

The restaurant

The restaurant.

Captain Steak is located between two buildings, on an open piece of ground, that is overgrown with a few trees. There are landscaped paths, tables and chairs placed, lighting. It looks nice when you walk past it, and also when you are sitting inside. If you want a fan is placed next to your table.

As its name indicates, is mainly steak (beef, pork and chicken) on the menu. You also get salad and fries, not real Thai food. It tasted better than we expected. The portions are small, more kinds of ordering is problems. Besides steak, they also sell Thai salads.

Pia had wine with her, and there were wine glasses available. Only no Singha beer, just Leo.

There is a cook and a girl (his wife?) in the operation. These people are very friendly and helpful, and the food is served quickly. When we were sitting there, people where coming and going regularly, but that they can handle that very well.

We have eaten there in March 2011, the food was good, and it was pleasant, and that for only about 300 Thb.

In 2012 Captain Steak was no longer there.
There was another restaurant in the same place. The staff looked a bit depressed when we entered. We got the impression that they just wanted to close, but it turned out that it was not.
But we still could order food and drinks. And only then we realized that we had entered a karaoke place. We nevertheless continued to eating, it tasted OK.
The karaoke did not bother us much, there were very few guests.
