Hat Thung Wua Laen is a beach where we accidentally have ended up.
We were on our way to Koh Samui,
but we thought it too far to drive in one day.
Near Chumphon we started looking for a place to sleep along the beach,
and after a while driving around, we were becoming hopeless,
we found this beach.
We drove down a narrow road, on one side some hotels, bungalows and restaurants and on the seafront sometimes a restaurant, and always the white beach and a very calm sea.
Everything looked clean, tidy and quiet, but certainly not deserted. The beach is beautiful: white, wide and clean, and very quiet. So we decided to stay there for one night.
There are no bars or discos,
this beach is fortunately too quiet and too small.
Some restaurants close early, already at half past nine (understandably
because the next morning at eight o'clock the staff
was already cleaning).
But there are also restaurants that stay open longer,
We have been sitting outside along the beach until eleve o'clock.
At the beginning of the beach is a shop where you can buy some basic things like soap, shampoo, chips and drinks.
On the way back from Koh Samui to Bangkok we slept here again.
The beach is just over 15 km north of Chumphon, in tambon Saphli amphur Pathiu. It is about 2 kilometers long. Along the highway from Bangkok to the south are signs to the beach.
We have been there for the first time in February 2013.
We made a second visit in Feruary 2015.
When we write about a place, we write about what we saw and did there, and what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travelguide (we are not complete), and it is neither an advice to visit or not to visit a place. Other sites can give you that information.
Our opinion about a hotel or restaurant is not ment to be a (positive or negative) review, you can find that information on other sites.
