De entrance

The entrance.

A nice hotel behind a gas station.
We were looking for a place to sleep near Ban Rai and thanks to a tip from the local Hihgway Office we found this hotel.
The hotel is behind a gas station, not the most inviting location. But it looked nice, a three-story building, with lots of light colored wood. Downstairs, the reception and the breakfast area, there are no walls. Achter en naast het hotel veel planten, bomen, erg groen. And next to the hotel, in the garden, is a restaurant.

The side

The side.

The hotel has, in 2014, 16 rooms. These are spacious, clean, but basic. There is a tv, air conditioning and a bathroom with hot and cold water. Every room has a balcony overlooking the garden. There are 4 VIP rooms, which are somewhat larger, and especially have a much larger balcony. The breakfast is simple, you can choose between american breakfast or rice soup from a plastic tray. The people who work there are friendly and helpful, if they speak English we do not know.

We have been there for the first time in 2004, and was our last visit in 2015. The prices of the rooms vary from 500 Thb for a regular room up to 1000 Thb for a VIP room, not expensive.

The restaurant has only Thai dishes on the menu. We have the impression that the first times we were there the food was better, but that was long ago, we do not know for sure. In 2014 and 2015, the food was decent, and not very expensive. The staff is, as in the hotel, friendly and helpful. The restaurant is located in a heavily vegetated garden into something that lookslike a river valley, a small stream flows past the restaurant. You might expect a lot of mosquitoes, but that is not so!!
