Cha-am is a small town, about 175 km south of Bangkok, and about 30 km north of Hua Hin.
Cha-am actually consists of two parts,
the village of Cha-am itself which is located about two kilometers from the coast,
and Cha-am Beach, which is on the coast.
We are talking about Cha-am Beach.
Cha-am Beach is made up of a boulevard, a few kilometers long,
which begins at the harbor, and then continues to the south.
Behind, inland is a second road, little streets connecting the boulevard
the second road.
Cha-am Beach is truly a beach resort and it is busy mainly at the weekend, there are many visitors from Bangkok.
Along the boulevard and in the little streets there are many restaurants and eateries.
Cha-am is easy to reach. From Bangkok by bus or train, two to three hours traveling. By car two hours on good highways.
The coordinates are 12°47′59″N 99°58′1″E.
We have been there for the first time in 1987, only for a moment. And later each time for a short visit, just for something to eat. As from 2015 we have stayed to sleep. We have been there for the last time in February 2016.
When we write about a place, we write about what we saw and did there, and what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travelguide (we are not complete), and it is neither an advice to visit or not to visit a place. Other sites can give you that information.
Our opinion about a hotel or restaurant is not ment to be a (positive or negative) review, you can find that information on other sites.
It is our description of a situation on a certain moment, influenced by our mood.
