Sawadee kha, Sawadee khrap

September 28 and 29

Home - Travel stories - Holiday 2017 - September 28 and 29

We are going to Thailand for two months and therefore we need to apply for visas.
We have some hotel vouchers and before we go to the embassy we stay in Scheveningen for one night.
The day does not start well, it rains hard, but according to the weather forecast it would be better later that day.
We leave at about half past 12, and in Scheveningen it is indeed not raining anymore But very quiet too.
We are going to walk along the boulevard, many restaurants and beach tents, and almost all the same dishes on the menu. After lunch, at about half past three we continue walking. We arrive in the center of Scheveningen. And there are strikingly many Thai restaurants and massage salons.
It starts to rain again. We are going to have a drink in a cafe. When it stopt raining, we walk back, but it does not last long; we hide for a while and then walk back again.
On the boulevard again, we decide to drink something, and after a while also to eat something. That food was not that special, a pity. But it has stopped raining, and the sun was shining.
At about eight we had finished our dinner, and we walked over the boulevard for a while. Very quiet again. Many restaurants and beach tents were already closing.
At 9 o'clock we were back in the hotel, where we had some drinks.

The next day, we didn't sleep very well, we had breakfast. Fortunately, that was good.
We drove to the embassy and issued passports and forms.
End of next week the passports would be returned.
After that we went to China Town in The Hague, where we looked around and made some purchases.
And then it started to rain again. We went home.

No inspiring days for the coming vacation.
