Why go there

Pia's sister owns a plot land in Banphot Phisai, she runs a small ostrich farm, fish swim in the pond, and vetgetables are growing. And a few relatives of Tham (Nok Ten's husband) live there, they take care of everything that walks, swims and grows. The place actually does not have a name yet, it's very remote, but there is electricity and water.

The mountain behind the house Last year, 2003, we have been there a few times. Only for a day each time, there are not yet enough places to sleep. It's 300 kilometres north of Bangkok, about 4 hours by car, going up and down on one day is exhausting and expensive. Most of the time, you can use a good 4-lane highway to get there.

The fish pond in front of the house Tham is a songthaew-driver in Bangkok (a songthaew is a pick-up truck used as public transport), driving in Bangkok causes a lot of stress. He already told us he loved to get more often to Banphot Phisai because of the quite surroundings. On the way he became more and more enthusiast, very understandable, even more when we had passed Muang Nakhon Sawan. The surroundings were very green, a lot of trees, and a lot of rice fields, sugar cane, orange trees . . . And a lot of well maintained houses.
