Ko Mak is a small island, near Ko Chang, in Trat province. The distance to Bangkok is about 315 kilometers. The island is about 16 km² in area and has 27 km coastline with many long sandy beaches. The is a growing number of resorts on the island. Nevertheless, It is still quiet.

To get there from Bangkok you have to go to Laem Ngop and there take a ferry. The road to Laem Ngop is good, almost everywhere four (or more) lanes.
By car it takes about 3 hours to get to Laem Ngon (motorway to Chonburi, then Klaen - Chanthaburi - Laem Ngop).

From Ekamai busstation in Bangkok busses leave a few times a day to Laem Ngob. It takes about 5 hours.
From Ekamai and Mo Chit busstation and from Suvarnbhumi Airport busses leave a few times a day to Trat. There you have to take a sontaew to Leam Ngob.

And then 1 hour by speedboat or 3 hours by ordinary boat.

The coordinates are 11° 49' 9" N 102° 28' 48" E

We've been there in february 2010.
