This site is designed for Firefox 2 (and higher), Internet Explorer 6 (and higher) and Netscape 7 (and higher) with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.
We used to maintain a MsAccess database to generate our site.
Now we are converting everything to a WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL and PHP) environment.
(But it could have been other tools just as well.)
We have chosen these tools because they are open source tools (except Windows).
The data-model of our MySQL database is very simple.
The tools might suggest that our site has dynamic content. That is not so. WAMP is running local, and we upload changes a few times a day,
HTML and CSS is hand-coded for optimal performance.
We try to avoid the usage of tables.
Tables are displayed when the complete table is received by the browser.
If a table is huge, this may take a while, and you are waiting, and waiting, and waiting, . . . . .
We conform our site to the XHTML 1.0 standard and the CSS 2.1 standard.
History of changes.

The next step is finished.
We are maintaining the page were we have links to search engines and other sites that link to us.
2010-07-19
It has been very quiet for a few month.
We've been in Thailand.
And we bought a new computer.
And then something went wrong, new versions of PHP and MySQL, problems with a back-up.
So we have to start from scratch.
We are uploading the introduction pages and the travel stories this week.
And after that building screens to maintain the linking systeem.
2010-01-29
We have started to add our travel stories to the WAMP environment a few weeks ago.
This works fine now.
When we add a story to the new site, that story will be removed from the old site.
All entities are implemented in our MySQL database.
Now we are building screens to maintain our new linking system.
2009-10-28
The fixed pages are available in the WAMP environment.
Our old site is still available and will gradualy be removed.
