Today we leave Villa Gianinna in Taormina, we go to Cefalù.
After an excellent breakfast we pack and we load the bags in the car.

With the help of our Garmin we drive towards Cefalù.
We first go to Catania and there we turn to Palermo. The road is good, four-lane, through a hilly beautiful landscape; the road consists of a viaduct on very large sections.
Halfway we turn and drive to the north coast of Sicily. At Buonfornello we miss a turn, but after fifteen minutes we are back on the right track.
When we arrive in Cefalù we drive through a very busy and uninteresting suburb.

We find a paid parking place quite easily, and from there we have to walk about 10 minutes to our hotel, Palazzo Raho, which is located in a very narrow street in a pedestrian area.
The welcome at the hotel is friendly, but they have lost the key to our room. The key is still found and we go to our room, which looks reasonable. The room is a split level room with a bed above. The bathroom is also on a different level and small. The room is fairly spartan, and there is no fridge and no water.

When we have unpacked our bags we want something to eat. The man at the reception recommends us the restaurant opposite the hotel, Ristorante La Brace Cefalù, but that is still closed. We sit down at Ristorante Galleria Cefalù, where we eat a few tasty dishes. If we want to order even more, the kitchen is unfortunately closed.

We walk through Cefalù, a nice old town with many narrow streets and nice squares. There are also many restaurants.
We sit down at the beach and order a drink.

In the evening we want to eat at Ristorante La Brace Cefalù, and we can still get a table because we are very early. An hour later the restaurant is packed.
The restaurant has a young Dutch man as owner, and his Indonesian mother is in the kitchen.
We eat very tasty and have a chat with the owner, who turns out to be very nice.
