We have already spoken a few times about the route we are going to drive. And we have the problem of the "black Saturdays" in France, on those days we don't want to be in the car.
We decide to drive in stages of 400 to 500 km.
The first stop is Reims, then Limoges, both in France.
We have to cross the Pyrenees to get to Spain, and that has to happen in the west because of the distances. We find San Sebastian not an option, hotels are way too expensive there. We choose Durango and from there we go to Salamanco.
From there we go to Portugal, to Evora where we want to stay two nights. Finally we drive a short distance to Lisbon.
We have also been looking at what we should take with us in the car, but that is not so bad, vests and a warning triangle. A vignette for the toll roads also seems useful, because the entire road on secondary roads as we had previously planned does not seem very feasible given the time it takes.
We have already booked hotels for the last three places, Evora, Salamanca and Durango. The rest will come tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
We do not yet know how we will return, except that we will stop in Porto for two or three nights.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment, there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood, the weather and many other factors.
