We slept reasonably at Holiday Inn Reims - City Center, the bed is good.
The bathroom is also good, although the floor of the shower does not feel stable, it is plastic and there is movement.
The breakfast is ok, but here too the impersonal approach. There is plenty of choice, and we sit on a nice terrace with a view over Reims.
At half past nine we drive towards Troyes, because we do not want to drive through or close
The road is hilly.
At Troyes we stop in a parking lot for a sanitary stop, and then we set the GPS on Limoges. The device indicates the route that we have devised in advance.
Halfway through the GPS give the message that a highway is closed, and there is a detour over a two-lane road. There we stop for a moment at a parking lot, which is located a bit in the forest, for something to eat. There are more people who do that, there are quite a lot of cars.
Then we drive on again and in the end arrive at the toll road near Orleans, where it is quite busy, but that hustle and bustle is quickly over. Then the latter follow over 200 km to Limoges. We refuel on the way. The road becomes increasingly hilly.
Near Limoges it gets busy again.
At a quarter to four we arrive at our hotel, Hotel The Originals Limoges le Saint-Martial,
which is located just outside the center of Limoges, in a seemingly boring neighborhood.
The room is not big, but tidy and there is more space than in Reims.
We ask for a map of Limoges, and the gentleman at the reception gives some tips on where we
Within fifteen minutes walk we are in one of the two centers of Limoges, looking for a terrace.
It is 37 degrees, very hot, and we are thirsty.
That is disappointing, the center of Limoges looks like a large building site and there are few terraces. At the market we still find something and we drink nice and cool beer.
We leave at 7 a.m. and walk to one of the recommended restaurants, La Vache au Plafond.
It looks nice, and there are no guests yet.
We eat there, and the restaurant fills up during dinner. The food tastes good, but is not really special, carpacia, salad and fried veal oyster.
During dinner we decide that on the way back we will drive through France not in two but in three days, otherwise we will sit in the car too long.
We walk back to the hotel and want to buy some beer along the way, but there nowhere there is a shop, not even in a station near the hotel. Unfortunately.
There is 1125 km on the clock.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment, there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood, the weather and many other factors.
