Largo do Carmo.

Largo do Carmo.

We get up late today, we slept through for a long time.

After breakfast we walk to the ferry, because we want to go to Sintra.
We have just missed the 12-hour ferry, so we have time to have a cup of coffee.
At about 1 o'clock we are in Lisbon.

We walk towards Rossio station, and on the way we see a shop where hats and caps are sold. Tom buys a new red cap there.
What is striking in the neighborhood around Rossio is that a lot of buildings are being renovated, that is nice, we hope it will also improve.
What is also striking are the electric steps, there are a lot of them driving around, and we get the idea that many people, tourists, know how to operate an electric step, but do not know what the traffic rules are for such a step. It seems to us a dangerous situation.

We look around in the area around Rossio and then we are hungry, we walk the Rua das Portas de Santo Antão. MAt mny restaurants we are almost drawn in, but we already knew that was going to happen from previous visits to this street.
At Milano that is not the case, we sit down and eat grilled sardines and pork with shells. It tastes reasonable, and the bill, 31 Euro, is not too bad.

It is too late to go to Sintra, we walk to the Largo do Carmo where we had a very nice dinner on the terrace of the restaurant of the Lisboa Carmo hotel during our previous visit to Lisbon.
The hotel is still there, but unfortunately not the terrace, too bad, because we wanted to eat there again.

Via the Chiado we walk back to the ferry; it is rush hour and therefore very busy, but many boats are sailing, we estimate a boat at most every 10 minutes, and we are quickly back in Barreiro.
We buy sausage and cheese from Continente, so we have something to eat tonight.
On the way back we drink something in Coffeetaria in the Parque da Cidade and then we go to our apartment.

Pia has a rash, it looks like the result of the oak processionary caterpillar.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.

This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not. There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment, there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood, the weather and many other factors.
