We wake up on time at the Ibis Arcachon La Teste Hotel in La Teste de Buch, and we slept
The breakfast is fine, but it is less fun, dragging a tray, small tables. The coffee is not in order, what is indicated as espresso is weak coffee.
After breakfast we go by car to the Dune de Pilat, a sand dune that is over a hundred meters high, about 10 km away. It is busy on the road, especially the other way, towards Bordeaux.
At the dune, actually a series of dunes, it is busy, and understandably, it is very impressive.
There is a staircase to the top, Pia walks all the way up and enjoys the view of the ocean.
Tom is afraid of heights and goes down halfway.
When we walk back we buy some souvenirs, we walk a little through the forest.
When we drive back to the hotel of course we take the wrong turn and we end up in the center
of La Teste-de Buch where we see a market.
We park the car, free of charge, and go look at the market. The market is outside around the municipal market hall, mainly local products are offered for sale. In the market hall itself it is more fun, there is a lot of fish for sale, and there are many restaurants.
We drive back to the hotel and rent two bicycles, 15 euros per bicycle, with which we enter
La_Teste-de_Buch, looking for the market where we want something to eat.
The market has already ended, but we are sitting on a terrace, where we order some snacks. It all takes quite a long time, but the food tastes best.
Tom has seen that there would be a Cambodian restaurant in La-Teste-de-Buch, we cycle
through the center but we can't find it.
That's why we go back to the hotel to search the internet for the restaurant, On Nem Angkor, and to check the menu. It seems ok, and that's why we cycle there, about fifteen minutes, and it appears to be close to the market where we have been before.
We are the first customers, and we order a few small dishes, if it is nothing we will be gone again. But it tastes like more. We also order larb and a fried fish.
The restaurant is also getting fuller, there are three large groups, and also many tables with two or four people, and many collectors.
It takes more and more time before the food arrives on the table, but none of the guests seem to mind, because there is no grumbling and nobody walks away.
When we have finished eating, we ask for the bill, and it is not correct, not everything we have eaten is on it. We make the people of the restaurant happy by telling them that, and we pay just over 40 euros in total.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment, there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood, the weather and many other factors.
