Home - Journeys - Holiday Thailand 2017 - Thursday, November 2, 2017

Pia get up very early in the morning in the Bann Pantai Resort in Cha-am. She walks along the beach all the way to the fishing port of Cha-am.

We decide to go and see Hua Hin today. On the way to Hua Hin, Pia wants to go to the palace where the deceased king often stayed, but this is now not accessible to visitors.

We drive further to the Market Village shopping center in the south of Hua Hin.
We get a bit disoriented because the traffic lights in the center of Hua Hin are turned off. Later that day we find out why that is so.

In the shopping center we look around, looking for a bathing suit for Pia. But we do not find that, but we do buy maps and a nightgown.
We eat something in the Food Court of the shopping center and then drive to the center of Hua Hin. There is another, old, department store, where we previously bought swimwear. Looking for a parking space we see that a few streets have been closed due to a market. And that's why the traffic lights do not work anymore.

In the old department store we notice that this has changed since our last visit, about three years ago. It has not improved. Staff that has nothing to do, little for sale. We still buy slippers for Tom and some underwear.
We would like to take a look at the market next to the department store, but that does not mean much anymore.
Better go back to Cha-Am.

We walk a bit along the boulevard, to the south, in search of a terrace. But we do not find that, everything takes place on the beach, or belongs to a hotel.
The beach, we do not feel like it, because then you have to rent chairs, and for one or two drinks that is too expensive.
We walk back, and we drink something in a street next to the hotel.
We eat in the restaurant of the hotel, the Coco Bueno Bar & Bistro, we are satisfied with it. And then we sit for a while on the veranda in front of our room.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.

This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not. There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment, there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood, the weather and many other factors.
