Home - Journeys - Holiday Thailand 2017 - Sunday, November 5, 2017

Much wind.

Much wind.

We slept well in the Bann Pantai Resort in Cha-am.

Today we are going to Baan Krood, a little more than 200 km to the south. Just before we drive away it starts to drip. On the way, especially around Hua Hin, we have occasional light rain. It is rather gloomy weather.

In Prachuap Khiri Khan we stop at Tesco Lotus to buy new shorts for Tom.

Then we drive on; the signposts along the motorway and the inland roads help us to get to Baan Krood quickly and easily.
In Baan Krood it is very quiet, it is still very gloomy and cool weather, and there is a lot of wind.
We drive along the boulevard, first the northern part. This is a good road with hotels and restaurants. The road along the southern part is less good and there are also fewer hotels.

The choice is simple, we are going to look for a hotel in the northern part.
The first hotel where we are looking for a place to sleep offers a cottage for 800 Thb. This cottage looks good, but we are the only guests in the hotel, and we do not like that.
The second hotel, the Baan Grood Arcadia Resort, offers a cottage on the second row of cottages behind the pool for 2100 Thb This cottage is spacious and looks good, we rent it for 2 nights. There are also many more guests here.

We take a bike from the hotel and go looking for food. We stop at Li's restaurant, a simple restaurant along the boulevard. We order yam talai and fried mushrooms, it tastes good and the people are friendly.

Because the weather is not nice we go back to the hotel and we sit by the pool for a while. Fortunately, it stays dry.
We do not feel like walking, and we decide to have something to eat at the hotel. Tom wants pasta, Pia wants rice soup with fish.
The pasta is moderate, and most of the fish from the soup has swam away. The cook can still learn something.
