Market.

Market.

Sunflowers.

Sunflowers.

Sunflowers.

Sunflowers.

We wake up early, we slept restlessly in The Imperial Mae Hong Son Resort in Mae Hong Son, we have to get used to a new bed.
Today we want to visit the Thung Bua Tong Forest Park, a sea of sunflowers high in the mountains.
At half past nine, after a good breakfast, we leave.

First we drive 60 km south on road 108 to Khun Yuan, then turn left onto road 1263 and follow it for about 15 km. This road is narrower than the 108, and more hilly. Then we turn right again, road 4009, into the mountains, even narrower and even more and steep slopes.
After a while we enter a market, it is very commercial.
We drive a bit further and arrive at the fields of sunflowers. There are very many, and there are also many people, the view of the surrounding mountains is very beautiful.

On the way back, about twenty kilometers before Mae Hong Son, we stop at a restaurant, Kublai Khan, and eat something. There is a large garden and fish ponds at the restaurant and much of what they sell is home grown. The food is tasty.
And the restaurant looks nice, lots of bamboo, vegetable garden, fish ponds.

Pia wants to go to the long necks, and we turn off at a sign. Too bad, it is a very deserted road that ends at a mud path.
We drive back and try again via the road we have been told at the hotel. We arrive at a pier where we have to pay Thb 600 for a boat trip.
It's late, we'll see tomorrow.

There is 1440 km on the clock.

We have now decided to book another night, there is still a lot to see.
We go to the night market again. We walk around, buy some food and go to the same bar, Coffee Me, where we sat yesterday. We can eat our food there.
Pia starts talking to the owner, a young, single woman with a three-year-old son, mother who died, father a long time monk. But she can take care of herself.
