As the name implies, this is a restaurant where food from the north-east of Thailand, Isan,
This food is usually pretty spicy, but once you've started to appreciate it, you can't get enough of it.
We come here because it is within walking distance of the house of Pia's youngest sister and that is where we sleep when we are in Bangkok. And because we want to eat Isaan dishes.
The restaurant has no sign with Roman letters, so you just have to find it.
It is a building made of wood with a corrugated iron roof, which was built along the road on a piece of wasteland. The building stands on stilts, approximately 1 meter above the ground; this way you also keep your feet dry during the rainy season.
Around the building there is high elephant grass, it is claimed that there are pythons there, but we have never seen that.
The decor is simple, some 10 wooden tables with a plastic mat on it, and every table 4 to 8
There can sit about 60 people.
There are fans on the ceilings and posts for the necessary cooling.
The staff live in the back, and there are also a few fridges with lemonade and beer. In the front, along the street, is the open kitchen. You can see how the food is prepared.
If you want to order food you write your order on a piece of paper (on the table), and give it to someone from the staff. And after a while, not long, your order will be put on the table.
If you want to order extra, it works in the same way.
The food tastes good to us every time we eat there.
It is as you might expect.
If you indicate that it should not be too hot, then it is not.
And as far as we can see, the kitchen is clean.
The staff speaks only Thai and Lao (the Isan language). Some people are not Thai, but Laotian. It is somewhat difficult to order if you do not speak Thai, it is no different.
The food is not expensive, we do not know exactly how expensive, but we were never shocked.
We were here on Monday, November 13, 2017.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment, there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood, the weather and many other factors.
