Home - Journeys - Thailand 2018/2019 - Monday, January 21, 2019

Today we are leaving Ban Chang, Udon Thani again. We are going home, to Latkrabang, Bangkok.
We are planning to spend the night on the way, near Nakhon Ratchasima, because we think it is too far away for one day.

But first we have breakfast with Bansri and Dick and one of Bansri's sisters.
There is very tasty sambal for breakfast, and Pia wants to take it to Latkrabang. Someone is going to get the sambal and we load rice and eggs in the car. The rice is grown by Bansri and Dick, the eggs are laid by their chickens.
At noon the sambal arrives, and we leave. We will try again, and then for a few days, to go to Udon Thani.

Pia searches in the car on her phone for a hotel near Lumtakong, a large and beautiful reservoir a bit past Nakhon Ratchasima.
She finds a resort that seems nice, and we drive there with the help of Google. But unfortunately the highway is a nasty mess due to roadworks. As a result, we miss a U-turn a few times.
We are already so far in the direction of Bangkok that we decide to keep on driving, because the distance is not that great anymore. Just before Saraburi we take the wrong turn, and that takes an hour and 50 km. Then it goes well, and at a quarter past nine we are home in Latkrabang.
