Villa Maydou Boutique Hotel is a beautiful hotel, hidden behind a temple. The hotel consists of old and old-style houses, with four to six rooms in each. There are 36 rooms in total.
It is reminiscent of parts from the Ancient City.
The welcome is very friendly, and the staff is very very helpful. Excursions can also be booked at the reception.
It is striking that everyone speaks reasonable to good English, but almost everyone also speaks Thai.

We get a room on the first floor in a house with four rooms. The house is built in the style of a traditional Laotian house.
The room is certainly at least 40 square meters, and has a beautiful wooden floor, which is sometimes a bit slippery. There is a large bed, 2 by 2.5 meters, with a good mattress and good pillows; the bed is high. There is also a fridge with minibar, wardrobe with bathrobes, slippers and extra towels for swimming, a chest of drawers, flat screen TV, bench for the suitcases, bedside tables, sufficient sockets, a silent air conditioning system, a ceiling fan, and in the hall umbrellas and a fire extinguisher.
The room has a balcony of 8 to 10 square meters with a sofa, table and two chairs, a cupboard and also a ceiling fan.
The bathroom is over 10 square meters with a bathtub, good height adjustable shower, a nice sink, plenty and quick hot water, 6 towels, hairdryer, safe, hand soap, shower gel and shampoo, and of course a good toilet.

The furniture in the room and the rest of the hotel are completely coordinated in style.
The hotel has a swimming pool, bar, restaurant, beautiful garden, free rental bicycles, free secured (very slow) WiFi.

The breakfast is fine, plenty of choice, but almost exclusively western food, much is made by the hotel itself such as cake, jam and yogurt. There is good baguette and regular cheese.
Dinner in the restaurant is disappointing, there is little choice and the food is very adapted and bland food.

We were here on Monday, February 18, 2019, Tuesday, February 19, 2019, Wednesday, February 20, 2019, Thursday, February 21, 2019 and on Friday, February 22, 2019.
We slept in a Tradition Superior room for 3775 Thb or 120 Usd per night.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.

This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not. There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment, there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood, the weather and many other factors.
