Kung Kraben Bay Royal Development Study Center is a place worth visiting when you are near Amphoe Tha Mai. The center is located on Haad Laem Sadet and is only 3 km. away from the dugon roundabout of Haad Chao Lao. The name “Kung Kraben” came from the shape of the bay that looks like a stingray.
Kung Kraben Bay Royal Development Study Center is one of King Bhumibol’s projects. It’s a place for studying and researching the natural ecosystem in order to find proper ways to develop the coastal area in Chanthaburi Province. Also, the center is a place where interested people can study the condition of nature so that they can understand the ecosystem in mangrove forest and can use these resources in the most effective way.
There is a wooden forest trail. It takes about an hour walking this 1,600-meter trail. The path leads through mangrove forests, along the bay and past a pond where fish is farmed. There’s also a watching tower where you can enjoy the view of the Kung Kraben bay.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment, there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood, the weather and many other factors.
