Villa Maydou Boutique Hotel is a beautiful hotel, hidden behind a temple.
The hotel consists of old and old-style houses, with four to six rooms in each house.
In total there are 36 rooms.
It is reminiscent of pieces from the Ancient City.
The reception is very friendly, and the staff is very helpful. Excursions can also be booked at the reception.
It is noticeable that all staff speak reasonable to good English, and almost everyone also speaks Thai.
We get a room on the first floor in a house with four rooms.
The house is built in the style of a traditional Laotian house.
The room is spacious, about 30 square meters, and has a beautiful wooden floor, which sometimes creaks a lot. There is a spacious bed, 2 by 2 meters, with a rather hard mattress and good pillows. Furthermore, there is a refrigerator in the room with a minibar, wardrobe with bathrobes, slippers, extra towels for swimming and a safe, a chest of drawers, flat screen TV, a bench for the suitcases, bedside tables, sufficient sockets, a silent air conditioner, a ceiling fan.
The room has a balcony of 8 to 10 square meters with a sofa, table and two chairs, a cupboard, two umbrellas and a fire extinguisher.
The bathroom is more than 8 square meters with a bath, a good shower that is adjustable in height, a nice sink, plenty of fast hot water, 6 towels, hairdryer, hand soap, shower gel and shampoo, and of course a good toilet.
The furniture in the room and the rest of the hotel are perfectly matched in style.
The hotel has a swimming pool, bar, restaurant, beautiful garden, free rental bicycles, free secure WiFi.
The breakfast is fine, plenty of choice, but almost exclusively western food, much is made by the hotel itself, such as cake, jam and yogurt. There is good baguette and regular cheese.
We were here on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.
We slept in a Tradition room for about 85 Euro a night.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment, there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood, the weather and many other factors.
