The capital of the province of the same name, Luang Prabang is a city in central Laos, on
the banks of the Mekong.
The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The nicest part of the city for us lies between the Mekong, the Nam Khan river and Phousi
This is the oldest part of the city with many French colonial style buildings. You sometimes imagine yourself here in Southern Europe. It is also the part where many hotels and restaurants are, with the associated tourists.
It is nice to walk along the Mekong, you can also take boat trips. And in the evening jeu de boule is played. The narrow streets between Sisavangvong Road, the busiest street, and the Mekong are also well worth a look. The daily morning market in one of these streets is a feast for the eyes.
We arrived here on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment, there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood, the weather and many other factors.
