The island of Koh Mak is owned by a small group of families (of which our family is one), all of whom work together to ensure that development on the island proceeds in a sustainable way. On Koh Mak we follow the ideals of ecotourism and so instead of jet-skis, nightclubs and traffic jams, you’ll find biking trails, diving schools and other worthwhile tourism operations. aboutus_fatherOur safe and natural surroundings are the perfect spot for vacationing families, ommantic couples or just anyone who likes a little peace and quiet – and lots of privacy. Our father (pictured), Khun Somchai Sudhidhanakul – also known as Mr. Sunshine – founded the resort 18 seasons ago, but since suffering a stroke back in 2009 he has handed over the responsibility of running the resort to his children. Lucky for him there are 8 of us: Yodchai, Yodying, Christian, Pueng, Kwan, Sai, Jom Jam, and Pom Paem. We think of it as Episode II. Koh Mak is an unspoiled island that has maintained its natural charm and beauty, and we welcome you to enjoy this beauty with us.

Welcome to the official web site for the Koh Kood resort on Ko Kut island. Here you will find photo's & descriptions of this wonderful botanical garden beach hotel and it's nature surroundings; strictly unedited photo's of the lovely, recently upgraded, Japanese styled bungalows, the beautiful botanical gardens, the cozy new lounge area, the new cocktail bar on beach level, the white sand beach and some of the sights around the island; and, of course, the best internet rates for the recently upgraded bungalows and the special all-in packages. Koh Kood Resort is one of the best nature hotels on the truly tropical Koh Kood island. The clarity of the sea water around Ko Kut easily matches that of better known islands like Phi-Phi, Phuket, Koh Samui or the similan islands and the lush vegetation and botanical garden at our resort will make you feel like you are staying (nearly) alone in nature. Koh Kood island has not been overrun by tourists like many of the other islands in Thailand have been and it will probably be sometime before this can happen, due to it's relatively remote location in the waters south of Koh Chang and Koh Mak island.
