Ko Mak is a small island, near Ko Chang in Trat province. It is located about 315 km from Bangkok. The island covers an area of approximately 16 km ². and a circumference of about 27 km. There are many sandy beaches. There is a growing number of resorts on the island. But it's still very quiet.
To get there you have to go to Laem Ngop, and there take the boat.
The road from Bangkok to Laem Ngop is good,
almost everywhere four (or more) lanes.
By car you are in about three hours in Laem Ngop (motorway to Chonburi, then direction Klaeng - Chanthaburi - Laem Ngop).
From the Ekamai bus station in Bangkok buses depart to Laem Ngop regularly,
it takes about 5 hours.
From the bus station Ekamai and Mo Chit and from Suvarnbhumi Airport
regular buses depart to Trat.
There you have to take a local songtaew to Laem Ngop.
And then another hour by speedboat or three hours with a normal boat.
