If you are driving into Hua Hin by car, you not have the idea that you are in the fairly busy tourist resort. Hua Hin resembles an ordinary Thai city.
If you arrive by train or bus you will be awaited by people who want to bring you to a hotel, but it is not excessive.
In a small part of the city, roughly between Thanon Damnoen Kasem,
Thanon Naebkhahard and Thanon Chomsin are many restaurants, bars and hotels.
Only when you come here you notice that you are in a busy tourist town.
In the evening it will be pretty busy, but not during the day.
The nightlife is much quieter than for example Bangkok and Pattaya,
and therefore you shall not find many go-go bars.
What we start to notice more and more is the smoking behavior of many, not Thai, tourists. In bars, terraces, restaurants, everywhere people smoke unashamedly. Maybe that also happens in other places in Thailand, that we do not know. But it's something we're not used to in the Netherlands.
Are you looking for a specific hotel, then it is wise to book in advance.
On the night market, already three blocks, it is always very busy.
