Going back

Home - Travel stories - Ko Mak - Going back

The next morning we took the speedboat back to the mainland.

The boat was on time, and that is special in Thailand. The boat was full when he left, and on two other islands more people had to be picked.

A full boat

A full boat.

On the island four rather fat men, who could (or would) not speak English. To divide the weight in the boat properly they had to sit on the floor in the back. That's not what they wanted but after much talking by the captain and passengers they finally went down.

At the next island, two more people would be waiting. It turned out to be four.

After five minutes, the captain stopped the boat. He was afraid that it would capsize. Loads of telephone calls, and after more than an hour a second boat arrived, and at sea half of the passengers had climb into the other boat.

Everyone has come safely to the mainland, but it was not a nice trip.

When we write about a place, we write about what we saw and did there, and what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travelguide (we are not complete), and it is neither an advice to visit or not to visit a place. Other sites can give you that information.
Our opinion about a hotel or restaurant is not ment to be a (positive or negative) review, you can find that information on other sites.
It is our description of a situation on a certain moment, influenced by our mood.
