Dined at The Terrace

Home - Travel stories - Nan - Dined at The Terrace

Thanon Thali, Mueang Nan, Nan.

We found this place by accident.
We arrived in Nan in the afternoon after a few hours driving from Lampang. And we wanted a glass of wine and a beer.

We knew there was a restaurant near the river, we have been there during our first visit to Nan. The restaurant was not there anymore.
But maybe a hundred metres away we saw a bill board for cola. We walked in that direction and we found three restaurants, all on the bank of the river.
The restaurants looked very drowsy, but maybe we were a bit early. We decided to try The Terrace, there was no particular reason for our choice.

The staff was surprised when they saw us, but after a few minutes they served our drinks. Pia ordered some food, yam, and the food tasted good.
After maybe 10 minutes some more people entered the restaurant.

The restaurant does not look very fancy, simple tables, a wooden floor, and a kitchen somewhere in a corner. But this is normal in Thailand. The way a restaurant looks like has nothing to do with the quality of the food.

The view over the river was very plaesant, and on the other side was a new boulevard. On the river students were training in long, narrow boats. A nice place to sit for a while.

We have been there once, in March 2010.
We don't know what we had to pay anymore, but the restaurant was not expensive.

When we write about a place, we write about what we saw and did there, and what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travelguide (we are not complete), and it is neither an advice to visit or not to visit a place. Other sites can give you that information.
Our opinion about a hotel or restaurant is not ment to be a (positive or negative) review, you can find that information on other sites.
It is our description of a situation on a certain moment, influenced by our mood.
