This restaurant is one of the restaurants in Hua Hin that specializes in seafood. The restaurants are not very different from each other, it does not really matter where you eat. The seafood and Thai dishes are tasty, prepared as you might expect.
The staff is friendly, helpful when choosing the food, and smooth. Saeng Thai is a great restaurant, and therefore the operation it is quite impersonal.
Saeng Thai lies half above sea level, is very large, at least 50 tables. You have views of the fishing pier, and a few other restaurants above the beach. Nice to sit in the evening. At the entrance there are large containers with fish, shrimp, ... You see what you are going to eat.
The kitchen is situated at the entrance, and is partially open. It looks clean.
Like all other Saeng Thai seafood restaurants is not cheap. This is mainly due to the location. But also because seafood is expensive in Thailand. In 2012, we paid about 1300 Thb for three dishes, including fish, and a few bottles of beer. Like everywhere else especially fish is expensive.
We were there for the first time was in 1989. For a few years we went back there every time we were in Hua Hin, but without a clear reason we went somewhere else to eat. In February 2012 we visited Saeng Thai again, and we were satisfied. Mister Wit was back on his old place again.
Our last visit was in February 2014.
When we write about a place, we write about what we saw and did there, and what we think about it; no more and no less.
